Central Motors in Ngatea on the fertile Hauraki Plains was first established in 1986 by Neil and Lynn Barker. The current owners, Mark & Jane Browne, purchased the business in 2001.

When the business began in 1986, Kubota was the main franchise sold and a lot of the original tractors can still be seen on the plains and around the Coromandel today.

Central Motors 2001 Ltd covers an area from Kaiaua in the north to Waihi in the south and all of the Coromandel and Hauraki Plains in between.

Our main franchise remains Kubota and we sell the whole range:

Mark comes from a farming background so is really equipped with the knowledge to help you make informed choices when it comes to machinery. He is passionate about Kubota and goes the extra mile to ensure you have a great experience at Central Motors.

• Backing Mark up is a great team of people with years of knowledge and experience.
• Bill Butler our main Diesel Mechanic started at Central Motors in 1986 as an apprentice and his knowledge of Kubota products is second to none.
• Chris Browne, a qualified Motorbike mechanic, started at Central Motors in 2002 and now runs the Parts Dept.
• Mat Grey, our Workshop Supervisor has been with the company since 2004, and is great at organising all your servicing needs, be it on the farm or in our fully equipped workshop.
• We have 3 more service technicians, another salesman and parts person again all have been with the company for a long time.

We are a Kubota 5 Star graded business, which is the highest you can achieve and this is because we are a small, family owned business where customer experience and back up service is our main concern. You don’t get lost in the wheels of big industry here.
